The bolgona.lab offers 1 Circle U.-Team for HU students in winter semester 2021/22: Climate Change needs System Thinking

The Circle U.-Team course starts with the HU-lecture period on 18th of October and end on 19th of February.

Climate Change needs System Thinking

Team leader: Wendy Quetzal Morel, PhD student at Humboldt-Universität

Level: Bachelor and Master students

What prior theoretical and methodological knowledge should students bring with them?

Students should bring a general interest in sustainable development.

Description:

Systems competence is one out of eight key competences which should be developed by each individual in the context of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). It creates the conditions to perceive and understand environmental-societal interrelations and contributes strongly to the development of all the other seven key competences.

The aim of the seminar is to introduce a way how to achieve systems competence by following ten successive steps. Based on climate change we will focus on the analysis of a part of our reality (perceive challenge) and how this is part of a system that is integrated by elements and relationships. Once we understand the system, we can identify leverage points of intervention in the frame of sustainable development, and therefore integrate positive actions.
